Therapy for Vancouver and BC Residents
Your Healing Journey
At Simitree Therapy, our sessions are about creating a safe, supportive space for you to explore your emotions, gain clarity, and heal. Every session is personalized to your needs, blending talk therapy with the option of creative expression through art therapy.
What to Expect:
1. Grounding and Opening Rituals
We begin each session by helping you feel centered. This might include a grounding exercise like deep breathing or setting intentions for the session, allowing you to transition into the therapeutic space with ease.
2. Personalized Talk Therapy
Our conversation is centered on what’s important to you—whether that’s managing stress, working through anxiety, or exploring deeper emotional challenges. This part of the session helps us gain insight into your experience, identify patterns, and explore ways to overcome obstacles.
3. Creative Expression (Optional)
For those open to it, art therapy is an available tool. You’ll have access to a variety of materials like paints, pencils, and collage items. This isn’t about creating something perfect—it’s about expressing yourself in new ways, letting the art guide you through emotions that words may not capture.
4. Mindfulness Practices
If you’re struggling with stress or anxiety, we can incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as breathwork or visualizations, to help you feel grounded and emotionally regulated. These practices are helpful both during our sessions and in your day-to-day life.
5. Boundary Setting and Personal Growth
A core part of our work together will involve setting healthy boundaries and revisiting old stories or patterns that may no longer serve you. We’ll work collaboratively to redefine your narrative in a way that empowers you.
6. Closing Rituals
Just as we open the session with intention, we’ll close it the same way. This helps you leave the session feeling grounded, with a clear direction for the week ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Therapy is an umbrella term that covers all forms of counseling and psychotherapy.
- Psychotherapy (often referred to as talk therapy) is a deeper form of therapy backed by psychological principles. It focuses on long-term emotional and mental health, helping you work through patterns, emotions, and behaviors through conversation.
- Counselling tends to be shorter-term and focuses on specific issues or challenges.
- Art Therapy combines psychotherapy with creative expression, using art to help you explore emotions that might be difficult to express verbally.
This depends on your personal goals and needs. Some clients find clarity within a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing therapy. During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss a plan that works for you.
Yes, you can! For virtual art therapy, you’ll use materials you already have at home. I’ll guide you through the creative process just like we would in person, making sure it’s easy and accessible for you.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals, and if you’re open to it, we can explore using art therapy as part of your healing journey. It’s a relaxed and open space to help you feel comfortable.
It depends on your extended health benefit plan. Many plans cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). You’ll need to check with your provider to confirm your coverage. Please note that RCC sessions are not covered by basic MSP (Medical Services Plan) coverage.
Yes, I offer sliding scale options for those who may need financial assistance. This can be discussed during our free 15-minute consultation to see what works best for you.
