What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy combines creativity with psychological support to enhance mental health and well-being. It’s a form of psychotherapy (talk therapy) that helps you express thoughts and feelings that might be hard to put into words. Whether you’re drawing, painting, or using other materials, creating art provides a unique way to process emotions, reduce stress, and gain insight into your inner self. This approach can also be particularly helpful for setting boundaries, tapping into your intuition, and discovering your authentic self—no art experience required.

How Art Therapy Works

At its core, art therapy blends talk therapy with the process of making art. It’s more than just “making art”—it’s about exploring your emotions in a hands-on, creative way.
